Welcome to Sunshine Coast Council

Congratulations on being elected by the Sunshine Coast community to represent your division, and the broader Sunshine Coast region.

On behalf of all of our people working at Sunshine Coast Council, we welcome you on-board, and for those Councillors who are returning for another term, we welcome you back.

I’m sure you will agree with me that is a particularly poignant time in history and unprecedented for Council and our region. The last couple of months have been a whirlwind of activity in response to the rapidly evolving novel coronavirus (COVID-19), which has forced Council to temporarily shut down non-essential services including the closure of community facilities. The well-being of our people and our community is paramount and although the situation is throwing a lot of challenges at us, Council’s continuity plans are ensuring the community’s needs are met and essential services are delivered through this difficult time.

All that said, we enter into the new term in a strong position focused on our vision and strategic goals, as well as creating positive relationships with our many partners and customers for the benefit of our community.

The Executive Leadership Team and employees look forward to working closely with you over the next four years to achieve many successful outcomes.
